Professional Boundaries

Daphne Thissen of Thissen Consulting will be chairing a panel discussion that promises to shed new light on key topics in architecture, engineering and construction on 3 July 2019 at Spaces Farringdon.

Crossing Boundaries — at the interface of architecture and engineering in today’s construction industry is a free event hosted by De Ruyter Netwerk examining boundaries—how they are changing or even disappearing—between engineering and architecture in the construction industry today.

Architect Edward Marchand, Associate Director at Bennetts Associates, will give a brief presentation, followed by a panel discussion with two other panelists: architect and Associate at Hutchinson & Partners, Sabine Hogenhout and Luca Frasca, Senior Associate Structural Engineer at Alan Baxter Ltd. The discussion will raise interesting questions and shed light on pressing issues and evolutions in the way architects and engineers collaborate, especially on large building projects.

This free event is open to the public, but is most likely to appeal to those in architecture, engineering, construction, design and related professions. It’s not restricted to any particular sector. However, De Ruyter Netwerk urges that you confirm your attendance via their Eventbrite page, since spaces are limited. The Eventbrite page also gives fuller details of the network and the invited panellists.

An important part of the network’s events is the informal networking over drinks—we can vouch for it: we’ve presented at one! This time it will take place in the pleasant venue of Spaces Farringdon. So get it in your diary, book your place online and come and make some useful new contacts.
