The jungle is alive

A unique launch event for Sarah Baker Perfumes with new extrait that defies all the usual conventions of luxury fragrance.

A great time was had by all last week at the launch of Jungle Jezebel, the latest extrait de parfum from the house of SARAH BAKER.

Created by nose Miguel Matos, this unique fragrance is inspired by cult film star and singer, Divine (aka Glenn Milstead). The new fragrance will be available within the house's flagship collection of luxury extraits as well as in a limited-edition version handcrafted by artist Sarah Baker.

We worked closely with Sarah to conjure up a suitable launch event that kept the spirit of Divine's transgressive brand of stardom and the heritage of the 80s underground clubbing scene.

The result was a bijou event in the suitably underground-credible surrounds of the Queen Adelaide in London's Hackney, complete with a suitable musical backdrop created by the Kenneth Clark Civilisation, who dug deep into their old-school hi-energy and dance music record bags. Incidentally, the DJ duo was an intentional choice: one is the twice BAFTA-nominated screenwriter commissioned by Scott Free to write a film script based on Divine’s life story; the other a cult cabaret performer, no stranger to London nights such as Duckie at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern. But, no, we're not revealing names.

Congratulations to Sarah and Miguel on a directional, stand-out fragrance that's already making waves... at 120 bpm
